So for the last two weeks I’ve really felt down and unhappy. Everyone has had their own struggle during lockdown and one of mine was having no motivation to workout. I started comfort eating and as a result I gained some weight. I wasn’t going anywhere so didnt really notice until I did a business launch and saw the photos of myself. I was in shock and in turn it made me even more upset that I had allowed myself to slip into that state.
At the beginning of August my girls were talking about doing this 28 day challenge from PT Courtney D Black. So I thought yes this is good we all want to improve our fitness and loose weight, we can use this as healthy competition to motivate each other. Day 1 comes and it was a hard workout my legs hurt so much I couldn’t move them for three days, because of this I had to rest and in resting I fell back into my bad habit. I only did three workouts a week as opposed to the six.
After having a really bad two weeks and looking at those pictures again, I said to myself I need to make a change! I am a positive person but was falling into a negative space so I picked myself up and said I have got to change my mindset. I did some research on body types and discovered mine so I made a diet plan for the week. I also factored in the workouts that I would be doing from the app. I weighed myself at the beginning of the week and set myself a goal.
Just by acknowledging my mindset and consciously saying to myself I am making a change instantly put me in a better place. I started my diet and started working out every day and just in 5 days I had lost 5 pounds. I felt great and even felt a change within my body, I had more energy and didn’t feel sluggish. I still have a long way to go but making the decision to change and going through with it has motivated me to stick with it.
My message to you is, if you are unhappy about something acknowledge why you’re unhappy then make the change to do something about it. No one else can change your mindset or change your situation it has to come from you.
